Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors. Our restaurant is on the ground floor and our bedrooms are on the first floor. We are able to provide sleeping and bathroom facilities on the ground floor in one of our rooms. We would be please to answer any questions you may have relating to access on the main hotel number.

Pre-Arrival

There is a bus service both north and south within 100m of the hotel. The nearest train station is Alnmouth - 8 miles away. The station can be accessed by bus (change at Alnwick). There is a local accessible taxi service available. Please contact us if you need to book.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

There are 10 designated parking spaces at the front of the hotel. Assistance with entry to the building and with luggage is available from reception. The surface of the car park is level tarmac and a low curb. Vehicles can reverse up to the entrance. The entrance is 5m from the car parking. There are 3 steps into the hotel reception where seating is available. The front door is 1.7m wide.

Main Entrance and Reception

There are 3 steps (0.16m high) into the hotel reception where seating is available. The front door is 1.7m wide. There is a side door without steps which is 0.8m wide. Reception is manned from 8am until 10pm.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

Once inside the building both restaurants, lounges and toilets are level and are carpeted. The minimum door width is 0.73m.

Public Areas - WC

The public toilets are to left (men's) and right (ladies) of reception. The floors are carpet or tile. Cubicle doors are 0.73m wide, toilet seats are 0.42m high and the hand basin is 0.8m high with lever taps. Coat hooks are provided in corridor and ladies toilet.

Restaurant/Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away and Cafe

Lighting is varied. Some tables are brightly lit with spotlights, there are others which have good natural daylight. Tables and seating are movable. There are bench seats and chairs with and without arms. There are tables with 4 legs and with central support. Staff will be happy to assist if reading the menu is difficult and a full waitress service can be provided to table. We can cater for most dietary requirements.

Bedrooms

We have a room which can be accessed from the ground floor with adjacent parking (2m from door) - there is a 0.18m step and 0.81m wide door. The room has a good quality double sofa bed in it and a bathroom adjoining. The bed is 0.38m high x 1.29m wide. The bathroom is approx 1.5m x 1.3m with a 0.73m wide door. Bath 0.54m high x 0.54m wide with shower above and support rail. Toilet is 0.42m high and sink 0.88 high. The downstairs bedroom is 3m x 4m. Television (with teletext and remote control). tea and coffee making facilities are available downstairs. There is also a double bed upstairs.

Additional Information

No smoking throughout. Dogs allowed in bedrooms only (guide dogs access all areas). We are happy to refrigerate medication or special dietary foods.

Cancellation Policy

We require full payment for cancellations within 48 hours of check in (check in time is 3pm).

If more than 48 hours notice is given and we manage to re-let the room(s) then we will refund your deposit (less a small administration charge).

If more than 48 hours notice is given and we do not manage to re-let the room(s) then your deposit will be retained.
